Hey Welcome!

I’m Mersadee. That handsome fella up there with our daughter Lennon, is Mat Contois.

Together, we are Freedom Hut.

I want to take this opportunity to introduce Mat. You see he isn’t one to brag and talk about how talented he is. But, you know being his wife and all, I don’t have any problem letting all of you curious folks know just what he’s all about and how fortunate we are to have him around.

I want it to be clear that Mat is more than just a carpenter or a guy that is looking to make money. His heart is 100% in everything that he does, and he is clear on the fact that his mission during his life is to help people. Help people build their dreams, help people connect to what is important to them, and most of all to help people understand that your dream can look any way that you want it to. And this is how Freedom Hut has been born.

In 2006, I was fortunate enough to meet Mat fully experiencing the adventure Life in Jackson Wyoming. (You could say it was love at first sight…)

He was living his big mountain dream of snowboarding, playing music, fishing, and mountain biking in one of the most beautiful places around. You could have probably accurately called him a ski bum…

But, being a ski bum takes time and money, so Mat started his first company Grand Openings Garage Door. This allowed him to live his dream, and create a livable income. He began his one man show in the middle of a recession, in a town of 10 thousand people, with 10 other garage door companies, and he made it. He made it because of his integrity, honesty, and genuine desire to give people the best service and products available. His reputation spread and his business grew……As did our Family!!

Fast forward a decade and we find ourselves called to Oregon to be close to family, raise babes, and find our own little place to make a difference in the world.

As for experience, Mat started young in the woodshop with his dad in upstate New York. There he discovered a true joy in building and crafting, and following that passion led him to this point. Over twenty years later, he has been hands on in every area of building homes, from concrete to roof, and all of the important areas in between.
